Create or edit an email

 

Create a new Email

  1. You can access directmail through the icon in the left menu (more information here);
  2. Click "Email editing for Directmail": you will already be in edit mode for a new email.;
  3. Then in the right menu go to the "Email" tab, go to the "load template" section;
  4. In the list of templates, click on the template you want to choose.;
  5. Then go back to edition mode "Email" in the upper left of the interface.;                                                                                                                                         
  6. Then save your email

Now that the email is open. You can go to the Edit tab at the top in the right pane.

The email has a section that allows you to add an item. Alternatively, you can drag and drop pre-built sections of the tool.

To begin editing an email

  1. You can access diretmail through the icon in the left vertical menu (more information here);
  2. Select Email Edition for Directmail
  3. Then in the right vertical menu, in the Load email section you can select an existing email or create a new one. If you have created a new e-mail, you can then click on the template in the list below.
  4. Do not forget to save the email afterwards.

Note that sometimes, you will need to edit templates (read this) when you want to edit emails. For instance, most of the time, headers and footers are included in emails. If you want to edit those parts, you will then have to edit templates.

You can also duplicate existing email. To have this done, open the email,  then click on "save email as"; Name the new email and save.

Change the name of an email

If you want to change the name of an existing email, simply go to the menu Directmail> Directmail_list> Emails. Once the page is loaded, search for the email whose name you want to change and then change its name. To avoid losing any link between the email and some widgets, especially xform widget, please, DO NOT CHANGE the code of the email.
