trim - Strip whitespace (or other characters) from the end and the beggining of a string.

SYNOPSIS

trim(string,charlist)

charlist
Optionally, the stripped characters can also be specified using the

  • "\t" (ASCII 9 (0x09)), a tab.
  • "\n" (ASCII 10 (0x0A)), a new line (line feed).
  • "\r" (ASCII 13 (0x0D)), a carriage return.
  • "\x0B" (ASCII 11 (0x0B)), a vertical tab.

RETURN

The trimmed string.

EXAMPLES

Note: In the followings examples, the _ between the { should be removed to make it work.

trim(" Hello ");
// Hello
trim(charlist: "0..9", "098aaa098")
// aaa
